There are three different departments involved in each freight request, which are: sales, finance and operation. In traditional methodology each of these departments are working in a separate data transition strategy and sometimes felt to a competition with each other. Applied different strategy in each department is resulting some difficulties and issues in updating process of data sheets.
Other key element of each progress is time. Having all data information in each department at the same time is one of the big challenges that each freight forwarder company is facing. To have a compatible and free error process, companies need to avoid any additional time consumption in transferring data from one department to the others.

In traditional method, companies are required to have computer software to work and need one off cost base on number of users with monthly or yearly supporting contract. As technology grow up, software also change and need to be modified which may impact of more cost for company. In the other hand this software is working within the company and any changes from a sister company or from main shipment company need to adjust in software, which sometimes have cost and time implication. But while, digital system is working in a cloud area, then always all data is up to dated for all involved companies at the same time without any additional cost for users. In this case, companies are requesting to just pay monthly subscription fees, which is more lower than traditional way.
However, small companies may have two issues. First, they need to modify their system to the big freight forwarder companies such as Maersk or others. Second, providing digital transition method just for their company may be costly and is not acceptable for companies.
